Vocational Training – Unlocking Potential, Building Futures
At Maithree, we believe that every person with intellectual and developmental disabilities (PwIDD) has the ability to be productive and independent — if provided with the right opportunity. Our vocational training program is designed to empower individuals economically, helping them contribute meaningfully to their families and society.

Our Approach to Skill Development
Through strategic involvement in tasks and the use of innovative, technology-enabled methods, we maximize each individual’s potential. Every learner receives an Individualized Vocational Training Plan (IVTP), tailored to their aptitude, needs, and vocational ability.
Structured Training with Measurable Goals
Two-Year Program: Skill development spread across two years for steady growth
Quarterly Targets: Each apprentice gets personalized, task-level goals
On-the-Job Training (OJT): Real work-based learning to build confidence
Regular Evaluation: Skills are reviewed every six months by an external panel

Seamless Transition to Work
At the end of the two-year program, individuals graduate with task-level or product-level skills, ready to work in an assisted environment. Maithree facilitates placement at its vocational centers or helps apprentices set up assisted workshops as independent entrepreneurs.
Why Vocational Training Matters
This program not only builds employable skills but also restores confidence, dignity, and financial independence — turning ability into opportunity.
